Slip Trailing

Slip trailing is when you use slip to design your clay, when you put slip on your clay it makes a texture on your finished piece.

Impressed Texture

Impressed Texture is when you press a design into clay to make a texture. You can use any item or template to impress a shape or pattern into the clay.

Surface Design

Sgraffito - form of decoration made by scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting color, typically done in plaster or stucco on walls, or in slip on ceramics before firing.

Surface Design

Mishima - a technique of inlaying slip, underglaze, or even clay into a contrasting clay body, the main clay body of the pottery piece.
